This is a video of my experience upgrading an old Dell 720XD server's power supply from a single 750w to dual 1100w. I hoped a hot-swap would work, but it did not go as planned. First off the system lost power when I removed the original supply even though the first new supply was in. Then I had to reboot several times because the new power supplies were blinking green -- which means "mismatch", perhaps a firmware mismatch. However, after a couple of hard reboots, it all seems to be OK.
