About 30 miles north of Atlanta lies Forsyth County, Georgia. It’s home to about 270,000 residents who boast about Forsyth’s high-performing public schools and growing diverse communities. But in 1912, it was the site of a brutal racial cleansing that expelled about 1,100 Black residents. Now, a new scholarship is helping descendants of those families reclaim their legacy.
