A Day in Una National Park: Fish, Falls, and History

Описание к видео A Day in Una National Park: Fish, Falls, and History

My day in Martin Brod at Una National Park was an unforgettable blend of nature, history, and local culture. As I arrived, I captured an elevated railway bridge in my video—something I learned about later, adding an unexpected historical touch to my visit. Then, things got even more exciting when I happened to catch a guy reeling in a fish while filming—what perfect timing! It was such a cool start to the day.

Next, I wandered through the Rmanj Monastery, a Serbian Orthodox site steeped in history, possibly dating back to the 1200s. Watching artists carefully restore the ancient walls felt like stepping back in time.

Afterward, I headed to the park’s entrance to buy a ticket for the waterfall. The entry was 3 marks per person, and it was worth every bit. The waterfall was simply magnificent. Right next to it, there was an old, ruined house.

Nearby, for just another mark, I explored an old mill and a traditional washing machine—though no one uses the washing machine today, it was interesting to see how it worked with just river water, no soap. The mill's stones, over 100 years old, still grind buckwheat today, and it was fascinating to learn how they maintain this heritage site.

I wrapped up my visit with a peaceful moment by the river, sipping Bosnian coffee at a quaint café. The sound of the rushing waterfall was so soothing, but once I left, the quiet outside the park felt almost overwhelming. Martin Brod is truly a place where history and nature come together, offering a serene escape from the world. For those who love the outdoors, this park is also perfect for camping, hiking, fishing, and rafting, making it a great destination for adventurers and nature lovers alike.
