Spin Mops have become very popular as an alternative to hand-wringing a dirty mop or using a traditional janitorial-style mop wringer.
These products are smaller and lighter, featuring a swing-away top handle that allows for quick placement exactly where you want the mop bucket to be. The spin action “wrings” out the water by centrifugal force. This method is fast and convenient, and the bucket capacity and associated weight are not excessive, so the load is not too heavy.
We have a mop sink installed in both our laundry room and mudroom, making it easy to fill and empty the tubs. If you don’t have a mop sink, then the bathtub is a great alternative.
We put these two popular mop systems to the test and compared them:

Both products are similar in price, ranging from $45. The triangular shape of the O-Cedar mop enables it to reach into corners more effectively, and it features a higher fiber content, which holds more water or cleaning solution. The downside is that it is heavier.
The Libman Tornado® is lighter and has a round mop head. It’s easier to move around and is excellent for smaller areas. We prefer the Libman push-down action over the O-Cedar foot pedal - that’s simply our preference. Both methods work well.
