I just got back from the show, and Megadeth tore it up. The entire crowd exploded when they played Holy Wars , it was an incredible moment.

Show Review

After hearing friends give mixed reviews of the sound quality of past Megadeth shows, I went into the show last night excited, but a bit skeptical. Tight, intricate thrash metal like this is tough to mix for a large arena. It certainly took the sound engineer a few songs to truly dial in the mix, but Megadeth themselves were in fire last night.

In a set that seemed to last about an hour and 10 minutes, Megadeth was, right from the start, an incredible, polished, sonic assault on the metal lobes. Not only did they nail every inch of their setlist with ease, I wouldn't be surprised if someone were to claim that this was the best incarnation of Megadeth musicians in their history. Not only were Dirk Verbeuren (Drums)and James LoMenzo (Bass) rock solid and bustling with chops, but Kiko Loureiro absolutely killed it, with incredible lead after serene incredible lead. One of the biggest surprises, was not only Dave Moustaine's full-on 80's tier flowing locks, covering his face almost the entire show, and hiding his slim beard. But the fact that 30 years later, he not only can still sign every single song, but is able to pull them off with full snarly rasp in tow. He then further proved himself further as one of the greatest metal front men, song after song, as he tore through and shredded every riff and every lead with ease.

The cream of the crop last night though, were the songs themselves, bolstered by a great video backdrops that approached the dazzle of a Tool show. Right from the get-go, Megadeth tore into Hanger 18 as the audience let out a deafening, cathartic roar. As though they had been dreaming of this moment for a decade. They then ripped through metal banger after metal banger, from Dread and the Fugitive Mind, to She-wolf, Sweating Bullets, Tornado of Souls, Symphony of Destruction, and ending on and absolutely sublime rendition of Holy Wars... The Punishment Due.
