September 2015. A Shenandoah National Park Big Run Loop backpacking/fly fishing adventure. Although the fishing was a bust, and the weather made us decide to cut the trip short, this trip was NOT lacking in adventure. A beautiful first day on the ridge top with westward views of Shenandoah Valley, first encounter with a black bear and a rattlesnake while backpacking, followed by a trip ending night hike out of the Shenandoah Wilderness in thick fog and major rain.
