Project Cheetah is an ambitious plan to reintroduce the cheetah to India, where it was declared extinct in 1952. The project has been met with some success, with 20 cheetahs being translocated to Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh in September 2022 and February 2023. However, the project has also been marred by a number of setbacks, including the deaths of eight cheetahs.
