Internship with IAESTE Switzerland

Are you looking for a chance to apply what you have learned in class? Maybe you are thinking of doing an internship to gain practical experience? And why not consider an internship abroad, where you can also benefit from international exposure, an experience that will open even more opportunities to you and allow you stand out in your future career?
It’s easier than you think! IAESTE Switzerland, a non-profit organization, helps more than 100 students per year to find their dream internship abroad.

IAESTE internships offer true work experience where employers will treat you as part of their team, you will apply your knowledge from class, deliver results all while immersing yourself in a new culture. This unique work experience will stand out on your CV and will be a great talking point in future interviews. And at IAESTE, your work is valued, all our internships are paid to ensure that your living costs such as rent, insurances and food, are covered.

An IAESTE internship gives you a deep intercultural experience, in addition to living and working with locals and other international students, you will have the opportunity to travel together on the weekends and discover new destinations. Of course, you will always have an IAESTE contact to reach out to for questions and support.

Living and working abroad for up to a year allows you to really experience your host country and be fully integrated in that culture. Being part of IAESTE’s international network also exposes you to many other cultures, broadening your understanding of the world and others.

During your application process with IAESTE we will check your CV and other documents and once you get accepted, our network of volunteers, organized as local committees or LCs, will help you find accommodation, register for insurance, get a sim card and open a bank account. You will be all set for your arrival!
In most countries, the LCs also plan weekly activities such as hiking trips, weekend getaways, after work drinks and more to give you the chance to meet other students and interns and make the most out of your time in your host country.

You do not need to wait to go on an internship to join the IAESTE network, the local committees here in Switzerland are always looking for eager volunteers. Like other IAESTE countries, the Swiss Local Committees organizes a variety of leisure activities throughout Switzerland for the international interns. They need help in many different roles such as event planner, social media coordinator or treasurer. You could therefore already gain valuable skills and make many new friends from all around the world volunteering with IAESTE. And of course, you would have lots of fun too!
