作品について / Program notes
曲は旅の出発を告げる金管楽器の華々しいファンファーレで幕を開けます。人々の夢と希望を乗せて列車が動くと、列車は徐々に高度を上げながら地球を離れ、やがて宇宙へと到達します。中間部ではゆったりと宇宙旅行を楽しみ、郷愁の想いを胸に抱きながら、天の川を遊覧。旅の余韻を味わいながら、やがて地球に帰還しクライマックスを迎えます。
最小15人から演奏できる小中編成作品です。

The Milky Way Express opens with an exciting brass fanfare heralding its departure. The liner departs carrying everyone’s hopes and dreams, accelerating out of the earth’s gravity and drifting into deep space. Travel slows as passengers begin to feel nostalgic for home and the ship ventures through the Milky Way. The composition comes to a climax as the tour returns to earth.

This piece is suitable for use by smaller ensembles and it works well for both concert and contest.
