How To File a Form 11 (Self-Assessment/Income Tax Return) in Ireland

Step by step guide on how to file a Form 11 with Irish revenue authorities. Note: Form 11 is ONLY for 'chargeable individuals'. A chargeable individual is either someone who is self-employed (i.e. not taxed under the PAYE system) OR is a PAYE earner, but also earns more than €5,000 in non-PAYE income (e.g. has a side hustle, has a rental property, etc.). You will need to register for ROS (Revenue Online Service) in order to file a Form 11.

If you don't fall into either of these categories, you will NOT need to register for ROS. Instead you will likely need to file a Form 12 (Income tax return), or possibly not need to file at all. Questions? Let us know in the comments.
