In this video Thafnine plays Ao Oni, an RPG Maker horror game created by noprops and released in 2007. It gained popularity in the early 2010s when YouTubers such as PewDiePie and Markiplier played the game and were surprised at the amount of jumpscares that were in a game created by RPG Maker. PewDiePie's music videos about the game also gained it lots of popularity in the YouTube Gaming circle and cemented it as one of the most iconic freeware horror games of the 2000s. The quality of the game has been debated, especially in recent years as YouTubers have singled out the game as being frustrating and the titular Ao Oni looking like YandereDev. Don't worry, I don't make any jokes about him in the video, I think.
