Spritz Veneziano - Venetian Spritz

Lo Spritz è il tipico aperitivo veneziano ed è una delle varie derivazioni della dominazione austriaca proviene da spritzen che significa spruzzo, schizzo, quando allora si usava bere acqua e vino. I Veneziani oggi, lo arrichiscono con Aperol, Cynar, Bitter o Select. Leggenda racconta che i veneziani lo colorarono di rosso poco prima del 1848 in segno di dissenso verso gli oppressori austriaci.

The spritz is the typical Venetian aperitif and is one of the various types from the Austrian domination and comes from spritzen, meaning spray, schizzo when they used to drink beer, water and wine. Venetians today enrich it with Aperol, Cynar, Bitters or Select. Legend has it that shortly before 1848, Venetians tinted it red as a sign of dissent against their Austrian oppressors.
