You don't need to beg or plead in an intimate relationship, because in an intimate relationship, you ask only once. Asking God "by faith" means believing you received what you asked for when you ask, then thanking Him for it until it manifests in the natural world. Faith is the substance of the thing you hope for, the evidence of the thing not yet seen, Heb 11:1. Faith is receiving now, hope is expecting the future. Thanking God for it shows true faith.

Luke 11:8, often used from faulty translations to teach that we should "ask, and keep on asking" until we get an answer, is not scriptural for petition prayer. Dr. Price highlights that the Greek word translated as "importunity" is "Anaideia" which does not mean "persistence" directly, but it literally means "shamelessness" or "impudence", which is what the story of Luke 11:8 shows by the fact of his coming at midnight and asking for food that was not even for him, but for someone else. Only in non-literal Bibles is the idea or words, "ask, and keep on asking."


This is one of the most valuable lessons to learn from the Word of God about prayer. It heightens the understanding of an intimate relationship with God, with whom you only need to ask once. Remember the Centurion's great faith, as recorded in Luke 7:4-10. Although this series, 'How Faith Works,' from 1993, has many lessons, these are the only two I have on VHS. Excellent!
