Spanning over 700,000 acres of remote, undeveloped mountains and valleys, Nevada's Basin & Range National Monument has been described as one of the emptiest spaces in a state famous for its emptiness. This vast and rugged landscape is home to many ecologically significant plants and animals, has a lengthy human history, and contains City, a massive earth art piece by artist, Michael Heizer.
