Instagram gives you control over the photos and videos you’re tagged in so that you can manage how they appear on your profile. By default, tagged posts show up in the “tagged” section of your profile, but you can easily hide them or remove tags entirely if you don’t want them displayed.

To hide tagged photos, open the Instagram app and go to your profile page. Tap the tag icon, which shows all the posts you’ve been tagged in. Select the post you want to hide, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, then choose Tag Options. From here, you can either select Hide from My Profile, which keeps you tagged but removes the post from your tagged section, or Remove Me from Post if you want to delete the tag completely.

If you’d like more control moving forward, you can manage tagging permissions. Go to your profile, tap the three-line menu in the top-right corner, and select Settings. Under Privacy, choose Tags and Mentions. Here, you can set preferences to manually approve tags, disallow tags altogether, or block mentions from specific people. This ensures that nothing appears in your tagged section without your approval.

Hiding or removing tags doesn’t notify the person who posted the photo, so you can adjust your tagged section privately. This feature is especially useful if you want to clean up your profile or prevent certain posts from being associated with your account.
