In a major development in the ongoing illegal phone-tapping probe, senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former minister T. Harish Rao appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) today, Tuesday, January 20, 2026. The SIT, headed by Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, summoned Rao following leads that he was aware of "certain facts and circumstances" regarding the unauthorized surveillance of political opponents, judges, and businessmen during the previous BRS regime.
Harish Rao arrived at the Jubilee Hills ACP office around 11:00 AM, accompanied by a swarm of supporters and advocates, though his legal team was reportedly denied entry into the interrogation room.
