Описание к видео HISTORY OF KADACLAN | Performed by the KNHS students

History
Kadaclan may have started at the time Akangan discovered the place he called Kachakran. “the big river” habited with fish. Little is known about this, except that when Akangan and his tribe settled here. Some years later, they cultivated the lands near the place and made a living,of the new-founded-land. From the particular place called Kachakran, places nearby were cleared and cultivated as the tribe increased in population. At the same time people from other places began to trade with our forebears. Some of these traders decided to stay for good.

They found the place good to start a promising future or they might have found a woman they wanted to begin a fresh life with. Kachakran stood as a lone village whose jurisdiction extends from the mountains towards Ifugao to the river called Acharum that runs down to the great river at Lakan, down below Lamot, the first place settled on by Akangan.

During the Spanish tomes, trails were constructed under Spanish supervision and free labor from the village folks. Labor was forced and frees (Kinchayas). Spanish rule however, did not kake root at the place. The Americans came in, to start their education programs in the late nineteen twenties, using make shift schools. Meanwhile, road construction was on the go. Kachakran’s road construction ends at the river of Acharum.

Inccidentally, boundary disputes between villages began to crop up. The hamlet at Mog-ao the founder Akangan first settled was being claimed by other villages. It was unanimously decided that the east would be settled through a wrestling Match between representatives. A certain Mafiayog stood for Kachakran while a man called Machuli represented the Fiarangao group. It was conditioned, that if Mafiayog wins, the boundary would be at the river Acharum and Mog-ao would remain a part of Kachacran. If on the contrary, Machuli wins, the boundary will be at Lunas river and Mog-ao shall belong to Fiarangao.

After the wrestling match, Mafiayog came out the victory, so the boundary was set at Acharum which flows down to Lakan. Mog-ao and its sister village of Lamut and Contowor remained to be part of Kachakran. It was further decided that inhabitants of Kachacran should not go beyond the river into Fiarangao and vice versa. Each shoud fish on their side of the river.

That settled, the Americans tried to concentrate on their public Education projects. In the early years of the nineteen thirties the Kadaclan Elementary School building finally stood up under the supervision of a shop teacher.

“Kadaclan” as was officially called remained a lone barrio under the Municipality of Natonin. Each Barrio represented by a Tenyente Del Baryo or a Barrio Leutenant-later on to councilors.

Before these now, four barangays of Kadaclan, namely; Lunas, Chupac, Kaleo and Ogo-og could normally adjust to normals trends, Martial Law was declared on September 21, 1972 by President Ferdinand E. Marcos.

All through the years since the Barangays of Kadaclan were taken under the wings of the municipality of Barlig, improvements began to get through. Then as the years rolled on as more kadaclanians became aware of the changing world around them, the craved for better living conditions for their own barangays. They invovled themselves in the political arena and got seats in the municipal congress, entangled themselves with provincial personalities and resolutions filed up for infrastructure projects. Massive improvement flowed in , which resulted to the construction and concreting of footpaths bridges, irrigations and public buildings such as waiting sheds, schools, clinics, halls and centers until the Barangays of Lunas, Chupac, Kaleo, and Ogo-og are self sufficient and self-governing as of today.
