By bringing two cats into the last room, you are able to reach the teleporter, activating an alternate ending sequence.

To access the second cat, you need to collect 15 stars to unlock the door near the start of the area. Then align one with the border of the screen and one in the middle, and bring them to the final room like that. You should have one cat stay near the flags to keep the other alive as they approach the teleporter.
