Despite countless warnings, tutorials, and data breaches, people around the world still cling to the digital equivalent of leaving the front door wide open. According to NordPass data, millions of internet users continue to use extremely weak passwords—and some trends are hilariously predictable.

🇯🇵 Japan tops its list with the classic numeric string "123456789", used by 15,681 people. It's just long enough to feel secure… but hackers know better.

🇨🇦 Canada prefers a keyboard-friendly password: "qwerty123"—used by 17,135 users. Easy to type, and just as easy to crack.

🇬🇧 The United Kingdom goes straight to the point: "password". With 21,128 users, it’s the most literal security mistake in the game.

🇮🇩 Indonesia, 🇹🇷 Turkey, and 🇫🇷 France all favor the simple and infamous "123456", with 33,119, 42,625, and 68,703 users respectively. Apparently, six digits of simplicity have global appeal.

🇺🇸 The United States, however, wins the "Most Ironically Insecure Password" award with "secret"—used by a shocking 328,831 people. It may sound clever… until your accounts get compromised.
