This is my Chevy Laguna that I've themed after the mid 70's stock cars that raced back when nascar raced "real" cars that were identifiable to their factory counterparts. Not meant to be an all out stock car clone, I just wanted a mix of a street rod with the nascar look and vibe. It's got a 454 bored .40 over with large oval port heads, 9.5 compression, and a comp hyd. roller cam that's good from 1200-5000, topped with a low rise dual plane manifold and a speed demon 750 with mech. secondaries. the rear end holds the original 2.56 gears, which I plan on hooking a built 200-4r or 700-r4 up to, which should make it capable of 188mph at an easy 4000 rpm. Of course that will be after the rear disc brake upgrade off a third gen. camaro, as well as a few other safety upgrades but it's all in good time. My latest work on it was this past year replacing the stock doors with some super light fiberglass doors. Stock weight was 115 lbs per door. New doors are 35 lbs. each with door panels and all. As well as repainting the whole car afterwards in my garage. Just a couple coats of budget friendly single stage Nason paint. No clear. 200 bucks did the whole car and jambs with paint to spare. Of course it'll all be wet sanded and done again after I get my fiberglass front clip to shave another hundred lbs. off the front. Salt flats here I come!....eventually
