Les "BAREFOOT-BOYS ", fondé en 1962 par PETIOT , cette "bande de 4 musiciens locaux recrutera 3 ans plus tard un chanteur qui allait faire la plus longue carrière du genre en Polynésie : GABRIEL LAUGHLIN plus connu sous son nom d'artiste GABILOU " , a inévitablement forcé la réalisation de cette vidéo .
La composition du Groupe dans ce programme est celle de la formation originale, telle qu'elle se produisait dans ce célèbre lieu de rendez-vous des noctambules qu'était le "BAR-LEA" .
Sous la Direction du célèbre chef d'Orchestre PETIOT, virtuose de la Guitare , GABILOU a rejoint les Barefoot-Boys en 1966 et assure la partie vocale , REMY à la Guitare rythmique , MAKITU à la Guitare basse et MALA à la Batterie.
Le BAR-LEA devait sa grande popularité au fait qu'il plaisait aussi bien à la population tahitienne qu'aux touristes visitant Tahiti . On pouvait y trouver un mélange hétéroclite et heureux de personnes se trouvant sur l'île , allant d'un Amiral de la marine de passage au pêcheur polynésien , et le "Papeete by night" de cette époque n'aurait pas été complet sans la visite du BAR-LEA , où la franche gaieté et la joie de vivre étaient de rigueur.

Under the talented leadership of PETIOT and his wizard guitar , GABILOU is vocalist , REMY on rhythm guitar , MAKITU on bass and MALA on Drums.
BAR-LEA had built its phenomenal popularity on its appeal to both the native Tahitian population and the transient Tourist . You found a happy mixture of everyone on the island there from a navy Admiral to a Polynesian fisherman , and no night on the town of Papeete was complete without a visit to jam-packed BAR-LEA .
