How to play jazz chords when soloing over 'Have you met Miss Jones?'

Описание к видео How to play jazz chords when soloing over 'Have you met Miss Jones?'

In this short tutorial I show how to play jazz chords when soloing over 'Have you met Miss Jones?'. As usual I spice the chords somewhat with extra extensions, e.g. dominant 7thchords with flat 9th or added 13th or minor 7th chords with a added 9th. Choosing what notes to play in each chord is called voicing and I usually leave out the root in each chord, why it is called rootless voicings. Playing rootless chords is common when playing jazz piano together with a bass player or a backing track (I use iReal Pro) but you can also play the bass note on the piano by alternating between the rootless chord and a lower root note. Rootless chords gives the possibility to use your fingers to play the extensions common found in jazz chords, why it is good to practice these chords. The PDF is available here:
