Goddes kalua or kali was worshipped by King Mauri of Mahuri Dynasty. Mahuri kalua temple is 15 km from berhempur. Present day Mahuri kalua shakti pitha is situated near foot hill of Mahuri Kalua hill But the Original Place of Mahuri Kalua was on the top of the Hill. One have to climb 675 steps to reach upper Mahuri Kalua temple. Mahuri kalua is one of the best picnic spot of berhempur. People from Odisha as well as near by state ,specially from Andhra Pradesh come to Mahuri Kalua in large number. During November to February large number of Visitors visit Mahuri kalua. Its undoubtly one of the best adventure picnic spot of nearby berhempur.
