Self Critique
Chapter three in this series of running writing of my thoughts on my animations, it's pretty much diary entries looking back on it. Raw, unedited, and full of grammar issues.
Anyway, it's pretty cool that a handful of people have read this, and it's even cooler than folks expressed that 'I'm too hard on myself'.

Honestly, I don't think I am. There are ideas in my head that I just can't execute, so I really wanna push myself to see what I can actually do. With this video in particular, I really wanted to try out create long background so I'm able to truck or pedestal my virtual camera. I think it worked out fine.

Though the main focus here was to shake off some rust. I had to fly over to the Philippines for family stuff and enjoyed my stay for almost two weeks. Despite my enjoyment, not being close to a graphics tablet for that amount of time severely hindered me. There's also university assignments to tend to and a dying computer I had to tend to, so there was a lot on my plate before I could properly begin this thing. So I said 'fuck it' and started a Patreon page, if it's gonna take this long to fart out this animation, won't hurt to spend some extra time to start one up.

Anyway upon completion, while I think the video is fine enough to publish, it wasn't as funny as I hoped it'd be. It just seemed grander stuck up in my head. Regardless, the video is fine if you like to see some pretty pictures move around a bit.

I'm hoping future project's comedic timing/editing will be much improved once I use Adobe Animate to storyboard stuff. 'Cause ya see, how I usually storyboard was listen to an audio file of whatever and draw it on Photoshop, and I'd just guess the timing. I had to imagine what would these images look like if they were moving whilst I played the audio in a seperate program. It's a tedious process that often causes a bunch of errors.

Sometimes I create too much drawing, 'causing to much information on screen leaving no pause for a joke to dwell for a bit. Or I create too few drawings and the screen feels boring for a tad too long. I pretty sure you can grab some examples in this video, but I don't care much to write them down now. What I will say though that sucks is the inaudible low drone noise that plays when Ryan explains to Matt about his thoughts on the inklings' age. If you have shitty speakers/headphones or your just listening on your phone/tablet speakers, I don't think you can properly hear the drone

Oh shit, that's right, I don't know anything about sound design. That's something I severely need to work on. Sound is like half the video, and it can just elevate a decent video to something good, or even great. and this video was decent. Not my best one but likeable enough. I'll try shooting for the stars next time.

On the upside, I really like the intro bit. It's honestly my a favourite part.

I think that's all I need to say and ramble about. If there is anymore, I'll dump 'em below this mess.

Thanks!
