This is a remake of a set that was well before my time and classic space has never been a big draw for me; I only bought the set because I got it on extreme discount (50%) with the intention of one trying to resell it or maybe use it as MOC fodder. I decided to build it because there’s been such an emphasis on space stuff recently… and this does have good parts to use for MOCs if/when I decide to take it apart. The entire 1254 piece set is only ten colors, there’s lots of different types of elements though. This is one of the LEGO build that’s truly impressed me in its design. The angles, the use of clips, the moving pieces; I could never design or come up with anything like this. The minfigures are remakes of classic figures, so it’s hard to judge them, they’re accurate… but because of that they’re plain. The set as a whole is big, much heavier than I anticipated it being. There’s also more moving parts than I anticipated. All prints, and quite a few of them, no stickers. All in all, I am happy I build this set and am keeping it. It’s still not my favored but I’m happy I spent a good chuck of time putting it together. I will grade it as a B+.
