Did you know you can see the Netherlands in the United States?!? Take a trip to Holland, Michigan, and the Windmill Island Garden to see one of the oldest working Dutch windmills in the United States. The De Zwaan Windmill was brought over to the United States in 1964. It became operational in 1965, and it has been operating ever since. It is still shut down due to COVID; however, we did get to go inside of it and tour. It is BEAUTIFUL especially with all the tulips still in bloom. We came at the end of Tulip Time, but we were still able to see some of the flowers there. Holland is an incredibly beautiful town in Michigan. I would compare it to the Netherlands, but I have never been there, so I am not sure. Anyway, I liked the Windmill Island Garden because it was absolutely stunning. Only thing I would change is open up the windmill so people can see how it works!
