The car world is home to a number of different styles and shapes. However, if you wanted a silhouette that was quintessentially cool by design, you'd have to go for the wedge. And no car quite perfected the wedge like the Lotus Esprit. 20 years after the badge was put to the axe, we revisit the iconic sports car that would come to define Lotus for years to come.

Car Retrospective is the series where we look at cars of all shapes and sizes, of all backgrounds and nationalities- if it has at least three wheels and has an engine of some sort, it may appear.
