In order to be a successful recruiter you have to be different. Although there are some elements of "selling" in recruitment I wouldn't regard it as a sales job. It is a service based business where you are paid for a successful introduction. Shifting your mind set from "selling" to a consultation model will grant you a much higher level of success.

It will also serve as you being an expert in your field rather than just another recruiter. If you are not discussing the role with clients you are just another recruiter sending CV's. You will also be struggling along with no business month after month. The success for me was when I took this shift and I was instantly treated with more respect and my revenue increased almost overnight.

Send 100 emails a day, with 60 cold calls and in around 3 months (maybe even less) you will be on your way to being in the top 10% of recruitment consultants in the UK.
