Days after being born, testing confirmed Corbin had bilateral severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss, which is lifelong and permanent. Corbin’s care team quickly worked together to come up with a solution. They decided cochlear implants were the best option due to the severity of his condition. As a shared decision between his family and doctor, Corbin had bilateral cochlear implant surgery at 7 months old. He’s among the youngest patients at Cleveland Clinic to undergo the procedure. He’s now hearing clearly and surpassing developmental milestones.
