On October 24, 1953, fifteen-year-old Evelyn Hartley left home for a babysitting job in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She never returned. What began as a normal Saturday night in a safe, post-war neighborhood became one of Wisconsin’s most haunting cold cases.

Police investigated thousands of leads, questioned more than 3,500 people, and even reopened graves in their search for answers. Yet over seventy years later, the mystery of what happened to Evelyn Hartley still remains unsolved.
