NYC Subway: Rush Hour at Times Square Station

Today's film explores the Times Square–42nd Street station in detail. Time of filming was during/just after the evening rush hour on a Friday (around 7 to 9pm).

Times Square–42nd Street station is served by eleven services (A,C,E,N,Q,R,S,1,2,3,7) on five subway lines. This film shows four of them: The IRT Seventh Avenue–Broadway Line, the IRT 42nd Avenue Shuttle, the BMT Broadway Line, and the IRT Flushing Line. The station is the busiest of the entire subway system. In 2013 it was used by over 64 million passengers.

I shot the entire film on an iPhone 6+ (using an external stereo mic). Using only light gear allowed me to film from right in the middle of things without being in the way too much.

Enjoy the atmosphere, the many trains, the people and also some musicians.
