Joseph is an aspiring investigative journalist, suspicious of the COVID-19 narratives and even more suspicious of corporations that attempt to profit off the resulting societal uncertainty. When his neurotic friend Nick goes missing near an alleged "COVID Success Center," he embarks deep into the mountainous forest to find a him. But the further he delves into the mysterious woods, the more he realizes to his horror that someone or something else has found HIM.

This is a "tribute film" inspired by Red Barrels's horror game franchise Outlast. The tone and style are heavily reminiscent of the games, while not directly referencing any characters or narrative points; see this as my "tribute" to what the games have done for me as a creator.

Outlast YouTuber Enolram graciously participated in generating hype for this "tribute film," and I have him and his community of subscribers to thank for cheering me on from the sidelines as I powered through this passion project. I only did this because I wanted to, and because Outlast left such an impression on me. It is my hope that this short film moves its viewers as much as it did myself.
