Banashankari Temple has located near Kanakapura Road in Southern Bangalore. It is one of the most popular places of worship in Bangalore City. Sri Banashankari Devi is also known as Shakambari. The Devotees have a strong belief in the goddess and fulfill desires for prayers done in true sincerity. The belief in the goddess is so strong and a huge number of devotees visit this temple every day. In 1915, the temple was founded by Basappa Shetty, a devotee of Goddess Banashankari. Banashankari Amma Temple is one of the very famous temples in Bangalore, not because of the temple looks but because of the beliefs, surrounded by the temple

The Banashankari Rath Yatra – This festival is held annually starting from January’s full mom day. The Goddess is carried on a procession in the temple chariot through the village streets. This festival draws people from Karnataka as well as others from neighboring states.

Banashankari Jatre – This is a religious and cultural festival that is held along with the Rath Yatra. It is a sort of fair, blending entertainment and commerce.
