Audi TT Mk1 - How to build a track car on a budget

Recently I met Lee who races his Audi TT Mk1 225 in a domestic cup series here in the UK. This all follows hot on the heels of my recent trip to the Nurburgring!

The car started out as a stock 225 and Lee has transformed it over the years into a very tasty track car. All the time, picking up a bargain and fabricating and building parts where he can.
Today the car boasts around 300BHP and is fully kitted for the track including stripped interior, full race cage, front mount intercooler, large rear spoiler, quick release bumpers, corbeau bucket seat, OMP QR steering wheel and of course the necessary upgrades to make this safe and meet regulations on track.
This is a true Audi TT race car build on a budget!

I got to take this for a quick spin down the road and I was struck by how noisy it was in the cabin. It felt very stiff and rigid on the road, even in the wet. It feels like it would go around a track on rails.
