…Allied airborne troops were to capture the bridges ,then ground troops would charge NORTH over the Rivers and roads of the netherlands, , around the Siegfried line into Germany’s industrial heartland.
BUT Would This daring plan work, and was it worth the risk? and as Polish General Sosaboski remarked, ‘what about the germans?’

The heroic exploits of allied paratroopers, tankers and infantry to achieve this aim was the stuff of legends. But it was not quite as portrayed in the film, A Bridge Too Far.
