1. Joy has now awoken,
By the prophets spoken,
As the star above the manger
Lights a world so broken.

2. Christ, incarnate promise,
Born of Mary to us,
Baby wrapped in swaddling clothing,
Poor like us, who knew us.

3. Angels now are praising
Christ, His glory raising,
As the news for ev’ry people
Through the world is blazing.

4. We shall sing the story:
Jesus, born of Mary,
Is the Savior whom we worship—
Come, and give Him glory.
