(This is the second week in a row we’ve had to put a spoiler alert in our video!) For THE GILDED AGE Season 3 Episode 7, the local filming locations include Washington Park in Troy, NY, as well as Mrs. Astor’s house and Dr. Kirkland’s office, which are both near the park. We’ll show you around and share behind-the-scenes footage from our favourite day of filming last summer: the day we got to watch Bertha Russell snub Ward McAllister in person! In the scene, Bertha exits the Astor residence and is helped by the butler, Mr Hefty, to her carriage. Ward approaches the carriage window, but Bertha doesn’t even glance his way as the carriage departs, leaving him in the dust. It was delightful to see Carrie Coon in costume (especially THAT dress, which also appeared in Season 2), and she seemed to be having a good time too. She even gave me a smile as she rolled past on one take!
