WOGymnastikA: Interview With Olesya Dudnik of Soviet Union

This is my first video interview ever. Luckily Olesya works in the same area I work in, so I contacted her and asked her if I could meet her and do a video interview with her and she agreed. Olesya understands English and a little bit of Arabic, she understood me when I spoke in both languages. However, she felt it was better for her to answer in Russian. Her best friend came with her and I have given them the questions few days before we met so they can prepare for it. I was sitting on her right side and her friend was sitting on her left side, I ask her the question and she answers in Russian then her friend interprets. The video was heavily edited, her friend did not want to appear in the video and there were a lot of noises, so I had to only show Olesya answering the questions in Russian providing English subtitles.

Since I don't speak Russian, subtitles may appear faster or slower. Also there was a lot of side talks between Olesya and her friend when the latter was interpreting so I don't know if Olesya was reminding her of her answer or adding a few sentences, In some parts I included it in some others no. The subtitles are complete and are 100 percent accurate as both of them provided it (I recorded it separately)

I was supposed to appear in the video but I decided to take myself out because of the loud voices and also because I felt it would be better if the questions were read on a black screen rather than heard.

I am so happy that I got to do this especially that I am on the other side of the World and it is too difficult to travel and meet up with the athletes and do interviews with them. Hopefully this will be the first of MANY to come. I aiming to provide written and video interviews in the near future
