Tom Cawley - Piano & Octatrack - Live Improvisation

Live performance at the Vortex Jazz Club, London, June 2024.

For those interested in Octatracks, there are three Parts in this piece - the first two set up to sample on Recording Buffers 1 & 5, with all the tracks using those two samples (or Thru machines), applying effects and sequencing. Part 3 is effectively just a drum machine.

All the sounds in Parts 1 & 2 are made from live sampling the piano.

Track 8 is used as a master track and controlled by the Faderfox PC4.

All the piano playing is improvised - the 'piece' is basically just defined by how I've programmed to Octatrack.
