There is difference between Dissolution of Partnership and Dissolution of Firm.
A Partnership Dissolved in case of A Partner is Admitted or Retired or Dies or Insolvency of Partner or Completion of Venture or Expiry of the Period of Partnership.
In case of Admission, Retirement, Death & Insolvency Old Partnership is Dissolved and a new partnership is formed and the business of the firm is continued.
According to Partnership Act “Dissolution of Partnership between all the partners of a firm is called as Dissolution of Firm”
It implies that, complete break down of the relation of Partners between all the partners. The business of the firm comes to an end. Firm’s books of accounts are closed, Assets are realized , liabilities are paid off and finally claims of partners are settled.
Here most Important to note that, Dissolution of partnership does not necessarily mean dissolution of firm, but the dissolution of firm necessarily means the dissolution Partnership.
