How to Remove Duplicate Rows in Excel

In this excel tutorial for beginners I’ll show you how to remove duplicate values in excel. In previous tutorial I’ve explained how to highlight duplicate values in excel:    • How to mark or highlight unique or duplica...   in this tutorial, we’ll remove those duplicates values and only keep the unique values.

There are several ways you can remove duplicate text in excel and they are as follows.
1. Remove Duplicate Number: Follow the procedure below to remove duplicate based on entire data set.
Step 1: Select the entire range you want to remove duplicate number from
Step 2: Go to "Data tab" and click on "Remove Duplicate".
Step 3: From the Dialogue box select all the columns and click ok.
Done, duplicate numbers will be removed if you have the same numbers on several rows.

2. Remove Duplicate Rows: In this section we’ll remove the entire row based on duplicate from one column.
Step 1: Select the entire range you want to remove duplicate from
Step 2: Go to data tab and click on Remove Duplicate.
Step 3: From the Dialogue box select only the column where the duplicates are and based on which you need to remove entire row and click ok.

3. Remove Duplicate from Specific Columns:
Step 1: Select the Column you want to remove duplicate from.
Step 2: Go to data tab and click on Remove Duplicate.
Step 3: A Popup will open, select “Continue with the current selection”
Step 4: From the Dialogue box click ok.

Done. This will remove duplicate number, text or any values from that certain column.
