Hello everyone and welcome to #exquisiteblossoms. Today we will be learning a little bit about #oncidiums and #oncidiumcare and what has worked for me.

Orchids:

Honey angel (right): purchased from Roehampton Orchids
No ID Oncidium (left): purchased from Kim's Nature

Oncidium care:

Lighting: lighting can vary on the orchid. Some can handle direct sunlight while others need filtered bright light. Currently I have my Oncidiums placed under a LED light but its filtered light.

Temperature: they are intermediate to warm growing orchids. Day time temperature can be around 26°- 29°c (78°- 84°f) and night time temperature can be from 12°-15°c (53°- 59°f).

Watering: water a lot when the orchid is in active growth and once the pseudobulb has matured you can cut back on watering.

Humidity: humidity levels can be be between 30%- 60%.

Fertilizer: fertilize regularly when the orchid is in active growth. Once the orchid has slowed down you can cut back on fertilizing.

Repotting: can happen once the pseudobulb is almost mature or when new roots are being made. Try to place the older growth towards the back of the pot so you have space for new growth.

Blooming: they need a drop in temperature in order to trigger blooming. So night time temperatures should be 18°c (64°f) or slightly lower.
