how I install c channel in the bottom of a table top

Описание к видео how I install c channel in the bottom of a table top

How I install c channel under a bowed table top.
first thing I do is I cut the c channel to length. then I use my cnc to cut the slots but I damage bits doing this so I will be going back to just drilling 4 holes and connecting them with a die grinder.
then I make the jig you see clamped down to my top. it is 1/8 or a touch more bigger than the c channel. 3/16 would be OK as well. then I set up my two routers.
1 router has a 1/2 inch bit for the main bed plow. The second has a 1/4 inch bit for the leg plow. I use the collar that is 1/8 bigger than the bit for both routers. this way the collor is 1/16 bigger on both sides of the bit.
then I set the depths so that they are deep enough to allow the c channel to sit flush with the bottom surface of the top.
route the slots.
rather as you see in the video I insert the c channel and mark the slots.
next using an appropriate drill bit I make a
stopper just bigger than my inserts so I don't drill through the table. then I drill the wholes.
I then insert the inserts and lay the c channel back in the route and screw it down with 1/4-20 screws.
I have flattened 1/4 to 3/8 bows with this technique.
