Watch the exclusive inaugural bus journey from Mumbai to Mangalore by Anand Travels' Volvo 9600 Sleeper bus. Anand Travels is the first operator from Coastal Karnataka to run the Volvo 9600 on this route. I started my bus journey on youtube from Anand Travels videos. Now I got the opportunity to travel in their Volvo 9600 bus. The inaugural bus journey was from Mangalore to Mumbai on 9th March, 2024. This bus is a 15 mts bus. These Volvo 9600 buses are phase 2 buses from Volvo. They reportedly provide better ride quality, comfort and refined. This time I travelled with my mom as well. This bus starts from Mira Road (Sheetal Nagar) in Mumbai and is scheduled to depart at 1:15 pm. Being a new bus, it is speed locked at 80 kmph. However, we did manage to overtake a few buses. Both the drivers were highly experienced drivers. The bus crew were very supportive in shooting as well. Suresh anna who is the cleaner of the bus, was earlier with Canara Pinto Volvo bus that I had travelled in. We infact reached Baner (Pune pickup point) 10 mins before time. However, we had to wait for the passengers both at Baner & at Chandni Chowk. This delayed the bus by an hour or so.

We halted for dinner at the usual popular Navami Hotel at around 8:30 pm. A pre recorded message was played to let them know we would be halting for dinner. There were quite a few buses there like KSRTC Ambaari buses, Vishal Travels, VRL 9600 etc. We had good chase with quite a few KSRTC Ambaari buses. We also had a chase with Sharma Volvo 9600 bus on the way. Even though it was locked at 80 kmph. It felt like a thrilling ride. You will get to see the beautiful NH 66 route during daytime. Along with the beautiful Marvanthe Beach. The last stop in Mangalore is Mallikatte & we reached at 9:30 am. Which I think is not bad considering the speed restriction and the delay in Pune.
