Emu farming has been successfully implemented for the first time in North-East India in Manipur by Salai Agri Consortium Private Limited (SACPL).
There are about 250 adult emus and 4 chicks currently at the farm.
The emu weighs about 30-40kgs and grows upto 5 ft. They have a lifespan of about 40 years.
