‘Huge failure’: Harry and Meghan’s security detail criticised over NY car chase

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s security detail has been criticised for its “huge failure” in protecting the royal pair during their New York car chase, according to writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue.

The Duke and Duchess’s security detail has been questioned on why they didn’t organise a safe way to get to and from the Foundation Women of Vision Awards.

“One of their security personnel said that they moved the couple into a taxi in a bid to try and avoid the paparazzi,” Ms Krakue told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo.

“But obviously, they didn’t cover up Meghan’s bright gold dress, so she stood out like a sore thumb anyway,” Ms Krakue told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo.

“Then there were questions being raised about why you would want to get this couple into an unsecure vehicle like a taxi to try and avoid the paparazzi when really they should have accounted for the fact that there would be major paparazzi at this event and find a way to get them to their destination safely.”
