Console Sports Games of 1993 - Summer Challenge

The final entry in the short-lived Challenge/Olympiad series of sports games developed by Mindspan. the series was released on MS-DOS it was also a console exclusive for the Sega Genesis. Summer Challenge was released for MS-DOS in 1992 with a Genesis release the following year in 1993. The game received a re-release, with the Genesis version released on Piepacker and Antstream in 2021.

Summer Challenge features 8 Olympic events with Archery, Equestrian, Kayak, 400m Hurdles, Pole Vault, High Jump, Javelin and Cycling all represented. Summer Challenge features three difficulty levels with two gameplay modes, training and a tournament mode. Tournament mode sees players compete against AI-controlled opponents or up to 10 human-controlled opponents with medals awarded after each event.
