Le vette più difficili del Gran Sasso: Vetta Centrale e Torrione Cambi

Percorso: da Campo Imperatore (2.138 m) si sale per la Sella di Monte Aquila (2.335m), alla Sella di Corno Grande (2.421 m), poi al Sassone (2.560m), e si percorre la ferrata Bafile. Circa 300m prima del bivacco Bafile, si imbocca un canale sulla sinistra fino alla Forchetta del Calderone (2.790 m). Da li si attraversa il grande Terrazzo, inclinato, e si sale alla Forchetta Gualerzi (2.840 m). Scalata del Torrione Cambi (2.875 m), ritorno alla Gualerzi e si procede per il Corno Grande Vetta Centrale (2.894 m). Discesa per la Forchetta Sivitilli (2.840 m) e salita al Corno Grande Vetta Orientale (2.903 m). Discesa al ghiacciaio del Calderone, poi Passo del Cannone (2.679 m), tramite ferrata, Sella del Brecciaio (2.506 m), ritorno a Campo Imperatore.
Lunghezza: 13 km (anello). Dislivello: 1.186 m, da 2.138 a 2.903
Equipaggiamento: casco, guanti da arrampicata, scarponi con climbing zone, imbrago, kit ferrata, corda di 20 m per assicurarsi (non usata)
Livello: Alpinismo II°+, ma come varianti affrontati vari passaggi di III°. Esposizioni, dislivello e lunghezza elevati. Fra la Vetta Centrale e Orientale il sentiero è molto esposto e poco indicato
