Welcome to Day 12

Today's task is connected to yesterday's.

Day 12 Task

We are going to think about the beliefs that we have inherited from our parents.
Your parents grew up in quite a different environment from you. Their understanding of money came from a totally different background.

For some of us, our parents spent their childhood in the war or post-war industrial time.
Working hard and long, with a reverence and respect for hard work and sacrifice was their experience. Making money was something that required either being born into wealth or born lucky, or possessing a lot of knowledge and skill in various forms, with a big desire to 'make it'!
The prevailing paradigm was that one needed to work very hard to attain wealth.

Our children will have a very different money experience. It will not look the same physically, mentally and emotionally. And it won't have the same ties to religion or spiritual mores and beliefs. Many young people these days use money very freely.


Make a list of the following:

1. What you have learned from your parents and family about money?
2. What you have learned you needed to do to in order have money?
3. What are the thought forms you inherited?
4. What do you know now, that is untrue, or only conditional?
5. What do you still follow?
6. What are you confident of doing differently?
7. What do you desire?
