Israel - Bomb explosion near synagogue

A bomb exploded near the central synagogue in Tel Aviv on Thursday morning (27/8). It injured twelve Israelis, one of them seriously. Police said the bomb, placed in a trash can by a bus stop, contained several hundred grams of low-grade explosives and nails which could have caused far more casualties. The explosion brought renewed calls from Israelis for tighter security while the Hamas spiritual leader, Shaikh Yassin, declared that such things will continue to happen as long as Israel occupies Palestinian land.
